About us

Pierpont Bay Yacht Club was founded in 1972 as an intimate, family oriented club with all the advantages of being on the "doorstep" of the northern Channel Islands, with a great harbor-side location just inside the entrance to Ventura Harbor. We offer a year-round cruising program both to the nearby Channel Islands, and to the other harbors in the area. We offer our members reciprocal privileges not only in Southern California and the throughout the U.S., but worldwide.

Our racing program includes the Land Rover Island Series comprising of The Hardway Race, The Milt Ingram Trophy Race and The Tri-Point Ocean Race. Each year in July we host the largest yacht racing event in Ventura County. "Milt's Race" was set up so that if you own a sailboat, "there's a class for you". In addition, we jointly sponsor The Hardway Race with the Santa Barbara Sailing Club, and the Wet Wednesday races during the summer with the Ventura Yacht Club.
